Safety

The highest priority is given to safety, together with protecting the health of those involved and the environment in respect of all activities undertaken by Huktra (UK) Limited. We have developed a set of operating procedures that minimize all risks.

These procedures have satisfied audits by a number of leading petrochemical manufacturers, the CEFIC and comply with the stringent safety directives laid down by the regulatory bodies covering the conveyance, handling and storage of hazardous products. Our accident prevention initiative does not end with a set of procedures, we are constantly improving by innovation.

The attention to detail in safety follows through into tank design, which is initiated by our in-house design department. Our entire fleet of tanks have full-length handrails and one metre wide walk ways. In addition every tank is designed to meet with at least IMO1 standards.

We employ a full time Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) as required under EU Directive 96/35/EC.

All vehicles are equipped with a comprehensive safety kit and drivers hold an ADR licence as a minimum requirement.

Huktra (UK) Limited were first SQAS assessed in 1996. We achieved 99.3% across the board during the most recent SQAS assessment. We have also been EN ISO 9002 compliant since 1991.
